Understanding Stewarding

at Spectator Events Training

This accredited qualification is aimed at those learners who wish begin working as a steward at live spectator events. These spectator events may include music festivals, rock and pop concerts, sporting events, parades or carnivals etc. It is a theory based award providing learners with the knowledge they require to effectively prepare for events, control entry and exit of customers, identify and deal with crowd problems and respond to emergencies.

HABC Level 2 Award In Understanding Stewarding at Spectator Events (QCF)

This accredited qualification is aimed at learners who wish to work as a steward in the Active Leisure, Learning and Well-being sector. This may include sporting events, music festivals, rock and pop concerts, parades or carnivals. In order to achieve this qualification learners are required to complete the following four mandatory units:

How stewards prepare for spectator events How stewards control the entry, exit and movement of spectators at events

How stewards monitor crowds and respond to potential crowd problems at spectator events

How to respond to injuries, illnesses and other emergencies in active leisure and learn
