Manual Handling Training

Manual handling injuries are the main cause of lost working days in the UK. These occur due to sprains and strains resulting from the incorrect lifting and movement of objects. In accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974) and subsequent regulations, it is the responsibility of all employers to provide employees with sufficient information and training on manual handling. Employees can gain a manual handling qualification through HABC to ensure compliance with the regulations and to minimise the costs incurred from work-related lifting injuries.

Training an employee to achieve a manual handling qualification employers have an effective way of ensuring that they have taken the necessary due diligence to ensure their staff are adequately trained.
